  1. Waking up early for Morning Training

Most of you (if not all) might feel guilty about turning off your alarms to go back to sleep, right? Well, if you’re lucky enough to grab some extra sleep, you have no idea how swimmers wish to do the same.

It’s because an ordinary day for swimmers starts by waking up early to prepare for their regular morning training.

  1. Attending classes after a tiring practice

If regular morning training sounds bothersome for you, it’s about time that you know that some swimmers also have to catch up with academics even after a tiring morning practice.

Most of them are student-athletes or varsity players who need to attend their classes no matter how exhausted their muscles could be. If this doesn’t sound amazing to you, then we don’t know what is.

Competitive swimmers know how swimming caps contribute to getting through every lap. It’s because aside from keeping their hair and scalp protected, swimming caps mainly reduce the water resistance that results in faster and better swimming performance. 

That’s why a ripped swimming cap is probably the most heartbreaking situation for every swimmer. And to deal with that heart-wrenching moment, some swimmers learn that bringing an extra cap is a must.

Anyone gets irritated as the water comes in their ears whenever they’re taking a bath, right? Well, it’s more likely to happen to competitive swimmers since they’re always in the swimming pool or any open water.

Since competitive swimmers often experience getting water in their ears, they’re vulnerable to having an ear infection, which is commonly known as the swimmer’s ears. Using earplugs is one of the best considerations that swimmers do to avoid having an irritating ear infection.

You may burn more calories when you’re swimming than when you’re cycling or running. Maybe that’s why competitive swimmers still feel hungry after eating a bunch of food. 

  1. Make different weird and funny faces.

Swimmers know the struggle of unavoidable weird faces they tend to make as whenever they go for their training or competition. 

From wearing their swimming caps, getting that “ouch” feeling as their hair gets pulled by the cap, putting on their swimming goggles, to trying to get some air, only swimmers know how funny and weird their faces could be. 

  1. Giving your best shot to beat your record

Only competitive swimmers know how every second in the water means a lot. It’s because they know the struggle of giving their best shots in every swim just to beat their record.
